Cathay Building 2002 Pte Ltd

The Cathay Building was the tallest building in Singapore when it was completed in 1939. The significance of the building was further emphasized when the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore designated the ‘front facade’ of the podium of that building for conservation.

The existing building has been demolished with the exception of the front ‘conservation’ facade. In its place, a new 17 storey entertainment, shopping and residential building would be built by Cathay. This new building will have a total GFA of 34,000 m2

JRP has been engaged by the owner to design the M & E services of the new building. Together with an Australian partner , JRP is also acting as the lighting consultant for the redevelopment of the Cathay building.
