Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) opened the new Exchange Trading and Exhibition Hall Complex on 26 April 2006.

The renovation of the Trading Hall started in July 2005. The new Trading Hall has 294 dealing desks and each desk can accommodate up to two chairs. There are also three media booths housing three organisations that offer financial news on television and another booth for all media organisations' use.

A new Exchange Exhibition Hall has been added to help local and overseas visitors to better understand Hong Kong's securities and derivatives markets. Inside the Exchange Exhibition Hall there is an auditorium where listed companies, Exchange Participants and related organisations can hold events such as annual general meetings and seminars.

The Exchange Exhibition Hall has displays on the history of Hong Kong's exchanges and the securities clearing house, as well as the current facilities in the Trading Hall and the development of Hong Kong's financial markets. There is also a window connected to the Trading Hall that allows visitors to witness the securities market in action. Other attractions include an educational zone, interactive kiosks where visitors can access market-related information and a service counter where visitors can purchase gifts and souvenirs.
